Clean Beauty from the Inside

With our 100% plant-based lash and brow products, we firmly believe that the most powerful effects come from nature. Whether those effects are through your beauty products or your food, they are instant and long-lasting.

As we outlined in our post on growing your longest eyelashes, even our lashes are impacted by the foods we eat. By ingesting more Vitamin E, C, and biotin, we can actually change the health and appearance of our eyelashes.

This is the same for every area of our bodies. When we eat nourishing, whole, vitamin-rich foods, our skin glows, our hair is fuller and more lustrous. Our outer selves are a projection of our inner health.  

To make it easy, we’ve rounded up some of our fave recipes packed full of beauty-from-the-inside ingredients you can check off your list. Every recipe is unreal delicious, secretly nutrient-packed, and shockingly low calorie. And they’re all vegan! It’s real. 

The Desserts 

Now we could scour the internet for many different chefs and foodies to find the best desserts, but there's just no need. We have found the holy grail of decadent, delicious, and healthy – the Queen: Chocolate Covered Katie! Bonus: almost every recipe of hers is vegan, gluten-free, and can be made sugar free.

Here are a few of our favourite recipes of hers (there are 100’s more to be discovered):

1. Deep Dish Cookie Pie 

Chocolate chip cookies and pie. Need we say more?! This recipe is made without butter, eggs, or white flour, and contains 5 grams each of protein and fibre per slice! Serious #beautywithoutsacrifice here ;)

2. Oatmeal Chocolate Fudge Bars 

Yes, just like your favourite from Starbucks! Except not 500 calories per small slice, and without the butter, sugar, and preservatives.

3. Superfood Chocolate Truffles + other superfood desserts!

Made with Lucuma powder, these melt-in-your-mouth truffles are anti-inflammatory and completely sugar-free!

4. Sweet Potato Brownies

Not only do these gooey brownies provide a major dose of vitamins, but the sweet potato replaces the oil (or butter) in the recipe, so they're much lighter than a traditional brownie.

The Snacks

The Snack Queen in our eyes is the hilarious, and very to-the-point Mind Over Munch, or Alyssia if we're doing real names ;)

All of these snacks are ultra-easy, nutrient-packed, and completely vegan. 

 1. Cauliflower Popcorn

Basically you can call yourself a health queen whenever you have a bowl of this popcorn! Not only is this recipe delicious, but cauliflower is chock-full of vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, pantothenic acid, and vitamin B6. It is high in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, manganese, phosphorus, and biotin. Amazing for your hair, your digestion, your skin, and a key factor in reducing inflammation in the body.

 2. Sweet Potato Chips

Not that we need another reason to eat sweet potatoes but here are a few: they are a great source of fiber, are high in iron, calcium, selenium, B vitamins and vitamin C. These are the multivitamins of root vegetables!

 3. Tumeric Snack Bites

Full of nutritious fats from shredded coconut and cashews, these ultra-satiating bites are not only delicious but will make you glow from the inside out. And the hidden health bonus: turmeric and ginger are among the most powerful antioxidants in the world!

The Meals 

 1. Jackfruit Taco Filling

Jackfruit contains some of almost every vitamin and mineral that you need, as well as a good amount of fiber. It is also full of antioxidants and is very low in calories.

You can use this filling to make tasty tacos, or a delicious vegan-style “pulled pork” sandwich.

2. Lentil, Kale, and Whole-Grain Noodle Bowl

If we had to pick one food to eat daily for lasting beauty-from-within healthy benefits, it would be kale. It is one of the most nutritious foods in existence and is FULL of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and cancer-preventing properties. Plus, this noodle bowl is super delicious and uber-easy to make.

3. Grilled Asparagus & Shitake Tacos 

Aren’t these tacos just the most delectable sight you’ve ever seen?! Plus they’re healthy, vegan, and really everything we could ever want. Filled with asparagus, you are getting all of those dark-green veggie vitamins and minerals, and the shitake mushrooms provide your daily dose of biotin and added antioxidants.
