Let's talk about self-love. Let’s begin...
What is self-love to you?
For us, self-love is all the things you do and think to be kind and caring to yourself (and sheet masks, LOTS of sheet masks).
What does self-love look like to you?
Around the Internet, and in your Instagram feeds, self-love looks a lot like lists, endless lists of ways you can be nurturing to yourself - we’re here to tell you that self-love IS bubble baths, tea, deep conversations, and long walks through the forest AND it is so much more. From our experience, self-love is far deeper than a list of affirmations and great brow maintenance - not that there is anything wrong with a great brow, wink wink!
Here's the thing most people don't talk about:
Self-love is built on honesty, commitment, and it's a relationship - with yourself, for yourself!
Self-love is the real deal. It is a full-on relationship with yourself. We don't know about you, but, self-love has taken the same arc as other romantic relationships in our lives. It has evolved from being innocent and juvenile, to rebellious, to committed, to complacent, to reignited, to mature, and the coolest thing about self-love is it is always evolving, because, you are always evolving.
Self-love is about falling in love and staying in love with yourself. It is a relationship that takes a lot of honesty and commitment.
Want to fall deeply in love with yourself?
Dive into self-love by answering these questions:
- What do you really love and appreciate about yourself? Here’s where list making is needed, MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU LOVE ABOUT YOU! Make the list at least 20 statements long and GET SPECIFIC. Be honest, be affectionate, be generous, be you. Our #1 - We love that we make products that enhance women’s natural beauty!
- What do you really dislike and hate about yourself? What would it take for you to LOVE those aspects of you? To actually - GET THIS - appreciate them? This is big work. Get clear on how you can find compassion and gratitude for the parts of you that you deem unlovable.
- Where are you not following through? Make a list of all of the things you said you would do and haven’t done and all the promises you made (mostly to yourself) that are unfulfilled. Practice being and keeping your word as a way to feel deeper self-love. SUGGESTION: outing yourself, apologizing, and starting again is always a good strategy with yourself and anyone else.
- What do you really want to do with your life, your time, and your people? What is in the way of you doing exactly that? What would actually make you do it? WILL YOU START TODAY?
