UPDATE: This is an update to my review from April 28th after voicing my disappointment to the brow pencil and refill. After writing, Plume customer support immediately reached out to me and sent out replacements +! I rarely ever write reviews and I'm extremely impressed with the customer service and only wish other companies had this much invested interest in their customer's satisfaction and products! It has been nearly three weeks and I have barely needed to even retract product in my new pencil (I use daily!) and while I haven't had to use the refills yet, there is clearly an improvement in the new packaging there as well! Not only am I happy with the new pencil and refills, but because I felt heard/seen, I will be sharing Plume products and my positive customer service experience with my friends and family. I loved my initial order of the brow pencil in Cinnamon Cashmere, however it only lasted me less than a month of use. I ordered the refill and was so disappointed when it was broken into pieces. When I went to try and fill my pencil it then wouldn't dispense. I then went to open my pencil to investigate and the pieces went flying out of my pencil and straight down the drain! Never used! Symbolic of money down the drain! I can't justify purchasing again either the pencil (despite my initial like) or refill. Moving on.

Ive never been able to find a pencil that was light enough blond color to look natural on me. The Golden Silk color really works with my complexion. I’m really happy to find a pencil that is actually good for my skin too and hoping it will help with hair growth

It may not look like much but I lost most of my brow hair due to chemo. I want a natural look most days and this pencil is perfect. When I want it a darker and more vibrant, I use the pomade. These are the first products i have tried that don't irritate my sensitive skin.

I have a this pencil for awhile and purchased refills for it. It seemed like the refills ran out very quickly. I stopped ordering refills. Recently, I turned the pencil upside down and eyebrow “lead” fell out! I reinserted the product and wound the pencil all the way up but could not get any product. I have probably thrown out refills containing product, which is very disappointing. I contacted Plume and even started a chat, both eith no result. I won’t buy any more refills.

These are all photos of Day 1 brows to compare colour (not hair growth). As a natural dark blonde, my gut instinct was to go with Ashy Daybreak. Then I noticed that a lot of people with hair darker than mine would use Ashy Daybreak for a subtler look and so I was curious to recreate that look for myself, so I got a Golden Silk pencil with some Ashy Daybreak refills. The Golden Silk looked “green” to me online, but I realized later that, as someone with lots of red pigment in their skin, the green undertones in Golden Silk help to keep it looking “cool” on my skin (other pencils end up looking reddish/orange on me). Honestly, I think the differences between the two colours are subtle—I really only notice them during application: in the yellow bathroom lighting, golden silk is so light that it’s hard to see while I put it on, it almost blends into my skin. I only notice a difference when step back. The Ashy Daybreak is more obvious during application, it’s significantly darker. I like to lightly “sketch” on my eyebrows, if I pushed down harder, then the Ashy Daybreak may become overwhelming. I like both colours, I think I still prefer Ashy Daybreak but I think Golden Silk is more forgiving during application, kind of like the difference between a 6H and 2B pencil, for the artists out there! Overall, the Ashy Daybreak seems more brown-pigmented.

This is a very user friendly pencil. It's very silky so you don't have to apply too much pressure to get the colour payoff. It has a spoolie attached for blending the pencil into the brow hairs for a natural look. It's refillable which is very important to me to have less packaging waste. Thank you Plume!

Basically I could copy and paste the review from “C.N.” In March 2021. While I loved the ingredients and that fact that it is at least partially refillable, it just gets used up too quickly. I knew going into it that it was softer than a typical brow pencil and that it broke easily, so I applied with a very soft touch and only twisted the product up as minimally as possible. I thought I was doing pretty well with it, but right about at the month mark it was gone. I don’t wear heavy brows, just basically fill in the sparse bits and make them look uniform. To compare, the maybelline ultra slim defining brow pencil that I’m trying to replace has the exact same amount (in ounces) as plume. I have had my current pencil for 4 months and it’s about a little less than half gone. Minus the month I used plume, I’ve been using it for 3 months and still have product! I love that dang maybelline pencil and wish the company was more ethical. It’s the only reason I’m looking for a replacement. The ingredients aren’t even that “dirty”, I just refuse to use any products that aren’t cruelty free. Plus they (maybelline/L’Oréal) are super sketchy about how they skate around this issue. I am going to hold on to the empty plume container in case I decide to go back to it , but for now I am on the hunt again for a clean replacement

The best brow pencil I’ve used! I am not a “beauty expert” but this is so easy to use. It glides on effortlessly, it doesn’t leave chunks behind, and the colour matches perfectly (I wear Ashy Daybreak). Highly recommend. I have both the pencil and the pomade and love both. I find the pencil slightly easier to use for better precision but mostly because I’m always in a rush in morning.

Some context: I mistakenly ordered the wrong color and when I reached out to customer service to inquire about an exchange I was informed that at this time, returns and exchanges are not possible. However, the customer rep very kindly gave me a generous discount to order the correct color and told me to keep the one I had.
Using the brow pencil: I have to say that this brow pencil is magnificent! The color is true, its very easy to put on and the tip is fine enough to draw realistic hairs when using short strokes. It stays put and doesn't fade the entire day! I also love that there are refills which significantly cuts down on the waste. Also, its clean ingredients and its positive effect on the brows are comforting that I am not using harsh compounds on my skin. I am a customer for life and I even bought my mom her shade to try.

Nice eyebrow pencil, good color for blondes and the brush is soft to the touch. Only complaint is that the tip is easily broken off if you apply just a tad too much pressure when filling in eyebrows. If you do very, very light strokes, the tip is less likely to warp and break. If this issue can be fixed, then this would be a 5 star product :)

I did like they way the pencil felt, I liked how it went on. What I did not like is that it barely lasted a month. I feel that, in order to really see if it's helping with growth and volume, it should last at least 2-3 months for that price. I will probably not buy it again because of the price and small amount that it contains.

Pros: the ingredients are amazing. It’s also a good middle ground of waxiness and creamy-ness so you never apply too much product. Packaging is somewhat refillable.
Cons: I find the formula to be too soft, as in it’s easy to snap (happened to me a few times which sucks because the amount you get isn’t a lot). But even if it doesn’t snap, the formula is so soft (probably because of the nourishing oils) that it just gets used up very very fast. I don’t wear makeup everyday so I don’t fill in my brows everyday and just 1 pencil lasted me for only maybe 3 weeks... not even kidding. Also the packaging is “refillable” but the refill is actually the whole top part of the pencil, which yes, is still less than throwing away a whole pencil but the top part alone is like 1/3 of the packaging and you still end up throwing away plastic. So i hope they will find a better way to refill so that you only replace the product inside.
Overall thought: I do like the ingredients and that it’s partially refillable. However even though 1 refill pack comes with 2 and its about 20 dollars so 10 dollars per refill, because I go through the product like way faster than any eyebrow pencil I’ve used, it’s not that worth it for me. I just purchased the pomade instead and will be just using the rest of my refills for days where I’m feeling too lazy to use a pomade.

The eyebrow pencil is perfect for me. I am 68 years old with thin and very light brows. Honestly, I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I find that the added emphasis on my brows brightens up my face. (So does my husband!) The brow pencil is easy to use and the color is perfect for my gray hair. It looks very natural. As a side note, very few makeup companies market their products toward older women, so finding makeup at this point in life involves a lot of searching as well as trial and error. I’m so glad I inadvertently found your product.

I love the sustainability of this product! It lasts through intense workouts and hot summer days. Ashy Daybreak matches my dirty blonde/level 7/8A hair perfectly. My only tip is to only keep a little bit of the tip out. If it's even a slightly too tall it snaps. Less is more.

I'm very happy with this product. It goes on smoothly and looks great. I love the fact that I can buy refills and do not need to keep throwing away the whole pencil. I so much prefer this product to the pencils that waste so much as I try to sharpen them and somehow they never work the same once they need sharpening. A Less Wasteful Eyebrow Pencil that PERFORMS?
YES!
This pencil glides so smoothly to create hair like strokes but its not too creamy where it's going around everywhere. It's so good! I used to purchase the NYX eyebrow pencils every 3-4 weeks and this one lasted a rough 3 months - I initially purchased in May and just now bought the refill pack.

I was very excited to try out this clean beauty brand. The color matched my natural hair very well, but it took multiple applications to get it saturated to my liking. So what should have lasted me 90 days, or so the website says, only lasted me just over a month. I do very much like the bristle brush and the color choices.

I absolutely love this eyebrow pencil. It applies smoothly and easily, and the built in spoolie on the other hand is very helpful. I have started to see hair growth in parts of my eyebrows where there hasn’t been growth in years. Even though the cinnamon cashmere is a bit red for me, I just combine it with a darker powder (i don’t have the darker powder in the picture, just the plume pencil ) and it looks greats.

I'm not sure how to share this, as it is good news and bad news! The good news is that I've definitely seen a difference - my eyebrow was missing hair in one spot (from a scar) and after using this product for 30 days, I can definitely see hair has grown in! Amazing!! However, the bad news is that I've also been applying the product to my eyelashes, as per the instructions but there's hair now growing on my eyelids!!!! This means the product really works for generating hair growth, though I just want it on my eyelashes and NOT on my eyelids. I guarantee I'm not applying the product on my eyelid and only along the line where the lashes meet the eyelid. Can someone please advise if this is a known reaction? I'm not sure if I should continue.
